Forging and seeking in L.A. in the summer of '98, Chris Shinn lived out his nature as he had since childhood, in the sustaining breath of music: to touch, to connect one with another in such a way as excludes isolation; a shared moment. And as the gods would have it no other way, Chris' band Celia Green just happened to be in transition when first he met his fate in the person of Christopher Thorn. The two musicians congealed immediately, both musically and personally: the outcome resulted in Chris flying up to Seattle for ''a few weeks'' to do some recording and see what came of it. Born from these sessions were the first infant tones of what would become Unified Theory. Chris' honest connection with his music became his honest connection with an audience: starving for a fresh voice in the jaded world of our present media mediocrity. Writing from a confidence both humble and direct, Chris' voice resonates with a longing common to our generation: a controlled chaos yearning for freedom. The timeliness of Chris' arrival into this Unified Theory (both the band and the universe in general) proves the existence of perfect timing and the will to live a life worth the time allowed us. Chris is in many ways a personification of this collective will for unity: a force undeniably present both in his music and his being.
